After reading this quote it had me thinking… how often do you hear parents encouraging their children to have a family? In today’s world, by the time your child hits high school age we are encouraging them to go to college and get a career. This of course is a good thing, but I STRONGLY believe it shouldn’t be the only thing that our children hear leaving our mouths. We should be adding on… so you can support your family and so your children can be taken care of. We should be teaching young girls every option. Explaining to them that we encourage them to be able to take care of themselves, but if at a time in there life they find themselves having the opportunity to be a homemaker, stay at home mother, ‘vintage Feminist’ then that is more than ok to want and to go through with. It is completely alright to want that life as well. We should also be encouraging our sons to be open to allowing their future wives to stay home as well. Teach them this might be something that could also be a possibility and is an amazing thing for their future children.
It’s so important in this day and age to being open to teaching our children that family life should be yearned for above all other things. That money is something that comes and goes. It’s something, yes we need, but we should not live for. We should remind our daughters life should be admired for love and not money and they should grow to be someone God would be proud of. I believe being a homemaker is a great way to focus on this ‘love’ life has in store for us.
Remember…
1 Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
Amen!!

Beautifully written – this sums up so much. It is a lifestyle that gets bypassed in schools. So many young women out there just want to be wives/mums but feel like that is not good enough. I think women who opt to be a homemaker are being true to themselves, if that is their passion and makes them happy, it should make everybody around them happy also.

Absolutely LOVED reading this! TOTALLY agree. You are right. It seems that now a days there is a class in everything…. How to start your own business… How to earn your own money… How to do this and that…. But rarely do you see classes or any education on starting a family. I loved your thoughts and opinions! So refreshing!

Parents send to college because they can learn how to live on their iwn financially becuase homemaking is in women’s nature by default and no training is necessary for that.It just comes automatically with the flow!!

I agree like I explained on some degree, but it isn’t instilled in many young women. I know someone who was taught life is about working and when she finally had children it was hard on her. She didn’t find it second nature because her mother didn’t do the same. With the world the way it is the problem it’s because less and less second nature.

But on the plus there are more men who are becoming more nurturers as well! That’s something nice to see!
